We will be relocating to Rotherham, or one of the surrounding areas in a couple of months.

Does anyone have any advice as to areas that are nice and safe for families to live in please?

Also I have a very active 9yr old boy. Can any give me some advice as to what's available in the area for him to do please? Sports clubs, Cubs or other things.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Rotherham isn't rural living!

Digger2 · 07/07/2020 13:38

No, but the surrounding areas are, which is why I posted here. Thanks

Depends whereabouts you're looking. Lots of climbing walls in Sheffield, close to Peak District for walking and climbing

All the usual stuff:
Football, martial arts, tennis, athletics etc. What does he like doing?

Wickersley, stag, Moorgate, upper Herringthorpe, Whiston are all considered nice areas to live as well as outer areas such as wath, wentworth, Bramley

Areas sometimes considered not so nice: Maltby, thryburgh, east Herringthorpe, Clifton, Dalton, parts of kimberworth and greasborough

Obviously this is not a hard and fast list. There's lots of places and house within those areas that are lovely.

Clifton park is nice. There's magna, Meadowhall, parkgate has a trampolining place, laser tag, shopping.

There's nice reservoirs to walk around. There's loads in Sheffield

Gullivers kingdom is opening. There's rotherhvalley

Petting farms - near Rother valley

Hope that helps
