Hello hoping for some help here please! We currently live in Greater London in a suburb, we are desperate to leave for a number of reasons which won't go into now. We have 4 young kids, oldest is 8 youngest 21 months. We are craving a more rural and slower paced life for us all, in fact I have my whole life! We LOVE Dorset and holiday there every year but it's by the coast that we go(would rather live inland). Are the secondary schools ok there? Clubs for the kids? My boys love football and my daughter is a rider. If not, how about Salisbury and round that region? Shaftesbury aswel?
I'd love to be part of a village that has a community perhaps on the outskirts of a town or market town as dont want to completely cut the kid's off. We do drive so that's not an issue. I am aware that alot of rural places don't have an awful lot of public transport, however some seem to be quite connected so that would be a bonus for when my kids are teenagers.
Work isn't an issue as we both work remotely most of the time. We have around 650-700k budget depending on how much work needs doing on the property.
Salisbury sounds lovely when i read up online but it's hard to tell without speaking to actual residents or people who have experience of it there. Any nice villages surrounding here?
Thank you in advance! X
