Hi - my wife and I (both women - just to be clear!) are about to relocate to Shoreham-by-Sea. We currently live in an area that we were staggered to discover wasn't remotely gay friendly when we moved here ten years ago.
So - we decided to accept the inevitable and move to Brighton and looked and looked and looked but - we currently live in a rural area and much as we like the buzz of Brighton we don't think it's us.

We concluded that Shoreham by Sea was probably more right for us and very quickly found a house and offered on it (before we had done much more research)- and then the lockdown happened! So, we aren't able to go back and really spend lots of time making sure that Shoreham is for us - and we are going to go ahead with the purchase - but I'm hoping that people are going to be able to say to me that Shoreham is gay friendly and that we aren't making a horrible mistake!! Help!!

Rest assured! Its fine and as far as I am aware gay friendly.
I dont live there, I live in Brighton but Ive been there several times and have friends who live there. Lots of LGBTQ groups in Shoreham.
Of course, I cant speak for everyone there and you can find homophobia anywhere but it doesnt have the reputation of being bigoted or anything like that. Plus Brighton is about 10 mins away by car. All good.

It's fine. I lived in that area. Most people would even class it as the 'Brighton area' anyway. I honestly wouldn't worry.
