Move to Brecon?

Hi, I wondered if anyone could give me a steer on whether Brecon is a nice place to live please?

DH has been offered a job there with subsidised accommodation for the first year. I'm originally from North Wales but have no idea what Brecon is like. We are used to living in a small town with limited facilities (currently in rural Dorset) so I'm more concerned whether it is a friendly/safe/reasonably thriving place to live.

Our DS will be off to uni later this year so schools/kids facilities aren't an issue either.

I'd be grateful for any thoughts from anyone who lives/has lived in the area. Thanks

Where in Brecon? It's a well served town, could do with a train station

It’s lovely. Stunning area with loads of lovely nearby towns, Hay on Wye and Abergavenny - the latter has a Waitrose if that's your thing.

I lived there for a year (Moved from Central London) and would go back in an instant. Friendly people and a lot of community events.
