Air Source Heating Vs LPG

So were having to make the choice, Air Source heating or LPG or what?? We'd obviously like the most cost effective but also would like the most reliable !! Does anyone have any advice / personal experience please TIA

I don't know about LPG but we switched from oil to air source heat pump 2 years ago and so far we have no regrets. Obviously it uses up more electricity but we're not paying for oil and there is a government subsidy which covers the cost of the system.

If you have a well insulated modern home and underfloor heating then ASHP likely to be a good option (if you haven't got room for GSHP).

If poorly insulated / radiators, I would still go for a traditional boiler - could be oil or LPG. Oil has advantages in being able to shop around for supply at the best price, LPG tends to be more restrictive with longer term supply contracts.

Of course if you live somewhere with mains gas, that's likely to be cheapest / most convenient.
