Has anybody visited the town of Aspatria in Cumbria? I am thinking of moving my family to a small village there and would like to know if anybody has any advice/opinions of it or the surrounding areas please? Would be much appreciated thanks

Hhhmmm. Aspatria isn’t in the Lake District. I don’t know much about it. What has made you chose Aspatria?

Aspatria is a bit grim to be honest. The main part is spread all along one long road so it doesn’t really have a villagey feel (it’s not a town). It has some nice houses dotted about but has a generally depressed air in my opinion. There’s not a lot going on there and it’s definitely not part of the Lake District. There are much nicer places to live in Cumbria.

Why?

Aspatria is grim AF. What are you hoping to get out of it?

That is what I have heard too. I have only been their twice. Once was to a church event. There are some lovely villages on the coast around the Solway.
