Does anyone know what it's like to live in Ambergate for families?

I have family members in Whatstandwell, Crich and Belper who have been happy there for many years. Ambergate seems like a nice place, has a handy train station to get you into Derby and Nottingham. I spend quite a bit of time in Cromford and it's a very friendly area. There are some nice little primary schools around, but you need to go into Matlock for secondary.

Ambergate is lovely, it does have the A6 running through it which can get a little busy but then you do have great transport links and the A38 is just up the road for Derby, Nottingham and M1.

It has a lovely primary school (up a steep hill), local schools of Heage, Belper and Fritchley. Secondary school may be Belper, Matlock or Wirksworth (not sure). It does have a local pre-school and playgroup.

Its a very nice area, lots of countryside with great walks around the woods and then easy access to Cromford, Belper and Matlock. Crich has the tramway museum and lots of family friendly activities locally. We looked at moving there a few years ago with a young family but couldn't find the right house but I would live given the chance (my little ones are settled at school and we are about 10 miles away).
