Moving to Somerset

Myself and DP are moving to Somerset this month. We've got a house rental just south of Taunton for now. We've been planning it for 6 months or so, he's transferred with his work and I will have to look for a job.

Although we are both very excited to start a life down in the county, I'm a bit worried that I'll get lonely and that it'll be hard to meet people, make friends etc. Can anyone reassure me a bit please! We really want to join clubs and keep busy. Up for trying new things! Any recommendations?

Taunton isn't the most rural town ever, there are loads of things to do and clubs etc you can join. What sort of things do you like doing? The Somerset Gazette is a local paper and is still quite well used in the area so you might find some good info there.
