Relocating

Hello everyone.

My husband and I currently live in London with our three children and have been wanting to relocate for some time. It is our hope to move to an area where we are surrounded by greenery and open space. We'd ideally love to have a plot of land.

As a black family who has never really spent any concentrated time in rural areas and as I have read a few worrying stories, I must admit that I am a tad nervous as to how we may be received in some parts of the country.

I wanted to get some honest opinion from those in the know. Is there anywhere that we should avoid? Equally, is there anywhere that would be welcoming? The area doesn't necessarily need to be diverse, just friendly and a great place to raise children.

My husband & I are thinking about relocating down to Suffolk, we also have a young son so a nice community & good schools is important to us. Does anyone live in this lovely part of the country who can recommend any nice areas to look at?

Hellooooooooooo please come move near me im in halifax west Yorkshire in a lovely little village i moved here 2 years ago and theres not many people of different races. Im mixed race and theres no prejudice here beautiful views a canal and a stream at bottom of my garden please look it up luddendenfoot halifax multicultural

I second the area around Halifax. Look up Hebden Bridge too, definitely an alternative welcoming vibe there... and absolutely stunning area. Trains too to Leeds and Manchester for your city fix!
