Moving to Banbury area

Hi there,

My husband and I are moving from London up to Oxfordshire this summer. I have a job close to Banbury and my husband needs to commute to Oxford so ideally we need to be close to a train station. We also have a little boy who will be 1 by the time we move.

We have fallen in love with a townhouse in Banbury and have spent some time in the town but would love some local knowledge/feedback/thoughts on the town itself and living there. We would love to be more rural but at the moment family time is the most important thing for us so want commutes to be as short as possible!

Any advice would be amazing - TIA

Bicester is quite popular these days. Outside of Bicester village, the main town has two train stations and lots of good restaurants, cafes and bars.

Banbury is ok, I've not really spent much time in the town there but took DD to a lovely nursery there. Constant smell from the factory but that's ok I guess.

I live in Oxford. There are lovely villages and countryside near Banbury, and between Banbury and Bicester. Bicester is also okay. But sorry to say I don't know anyone who has anything good to say about Banbury really.
