I live in one of the outlying villages, about 10 minutes drive from Totnes. It’s a beautiful part of the country, stunning scenery, loads of wildlife, beaches, moors etc. Totnes itself is Ok.

Likes:
Zero waste shop (the UKs first!)
Independent shops and cafes
Vire island for a picnic
The castle
Bob the bus

Things I don’t like:
Pretentious hipsters
Pavements and shop doorways too narrow for a buggy
Very limited free parking
Traffic on the ‘bypass’

I prefer Tavistock.
