Hi everyone, we're looking/hoping/debating moving to Fulbourn in the near future. We currently live in Crystal Palace with our two young girls and another baby due soon. The move is going to be a huge change for us all but hopefully the right one! We are familiar with Cambridge as we lived there in our early twenties. Just wondering if anyone is familiar with the village and can give me any insight/reassurance/advice please. Thanks in advance.

Hi there! I am just down the road in Linton. Fulbourn is a lovely village. Very close to Cambridge but not in the city. Buses travel in very frequently. Schools are good. You have the big Tesco up the road. I say go for it. South Cambs is a great place to raise a family. Lots of countryside on your door step and Addenbrooks is anazing! Have you thought about the other villages? Abington is lovely. Hildersham accross the road from Abington. Linton. Then Fulborne, bit closer to Cambs.

Thanks so much for your message Septembersunshine. We are viewing houses and visiting the village again tomorrow. We're torn between trying to live within the city boundaries where our children will have more independence when they reach their teenage years versus Fulbourn where we get more space and house for our money. Coming from London whatever we choose will be a big change! I loved the primary school when I looked around and the village did have a nice feel. I was a little concerned it's a bit of an old person's place - any thoughts? Also, bit scared about whether or not being in a village means a lack of multicultural influence and less open-minded attitudes. I don't mean that at all to be insulting but coming from a very multicultural part of South London it is something that worries me.
