Moving to Cornwall??

OH and I are contemplating a move. We visit Cornwall a couple of times a year (Padstow mainly) and love it but not sure where would be good to live. Currently have a 6 month old baby and plans for at least 1 more child (hopefully). I think I would be able to do my job remotely but OH would probably have to do something else (currently works in funds and hates it anyway!). We would also potentially be interested in getting somewhere which had units to let out - holiday cottages or similar. We are both very into our food also. Any suggestions re areas? Somewhere good to make friends too?

Hi there. I didn’t want to read and leave unanswered, so hope this helps!

We live near Falmouth, having moved down five years ago. DP’s family is from this part of the world so dc has cousins, gps etc nearby. We’ve never liked Truro particularly, so that was put for us. It’s pretty dead of an evening. Falmouth is much much better for evenings and is really good for food. Always something new to try and lots of variety, lots of good quality independent places.

Lots of cottage rental places all over Cornwall, partic by the coast but inland too. Obvs depends what’s in the market when you come to look. But there are often complexes for sale, there’s one near me for sale now. Has a dozen or so units, open air pool, playground etc. 3 miles from Falmouth. My folks stayed there last year, dc went swimming every day for a week and didn’t need her wetsuit!

Best of luck, feel free to pm me if I can answer any questions I’ll be happy to. Cheers.

Thank you! I have only just seen this as hadn't logged on for a while. I'll see if can find the complex you talk about x
