Moving to Surrey

Hi - I was wondering if I could get some advice/help....we are looking to move to Surrey focus is on the following areas:

-Thames Ditton
-Esher
-Hinchley Wood
-East Mosley

Would anyone have any recommendations on schools for 4+yr old in either area & what they think of the area

I would really appreciate your thoughts

I'm too out the loop on schools but are you aware that these Are not "rural" by any stretch of the imagination?

I was going to post something very similar but this seems to be the only topic option!!!

Ah is there not a Surrey Local if you set it up on your preferences?

You can't possibly think those areas are rural??

None of these areas are rural! I am not sure on Esher schools (I expect most in that area go private)

Hinchley has a lovely primary and secondary school and would prob be top of my list tbh! Thames ditton is also nice. Molesey schools I think primary are okay but the local secondary is awful!

Also interested - have you looked at Long Ditton as well?

Hi All, thanks to everyone who has given me their advice & kindly stated that these are not rural areas....I am fully aware of this however when searching for a topic I could not find anything for house move to Surrey also as one kind mum pointed out this is the only option to post such a topic!!! Also I’m new on mumsnet - if I can remove this post & create a new one i will...sorry to those that I seem to have probably annoyed with such a small mistake

@sickmumma - thank you...yes Hinchley Wood does look fab for schools & im really starting to like the area too 🙂

@KTkowles - thank you I will look at Long Ditton & do some research on schools 🙂 I’m also liking Thames Ditton they have a feeder school in the area for Hinchley Wood School

In topics search "local" in there join up to the Surrey ones and post in those you will get current Surrey local members that can give you advice.

Some people do think that all of Surrey is beautiful green rolling hills and countryside not realise huge parts of it are urban sprawl spreading out from Greater London with hideous congestion, pollution and shortage of school places.!
