Looking to move to MidWales with DS 4 + 8. Any comments on places with a good community spirit?

We nearly became Welsh smallholders but have recently called off the search! Realised its near impossible to find well paid jobs unless your fluent in Welsh.
I grew up in Wales but my parents are English so my Welsh language skills are a bit basic.
Places I know ofwith good community...
Llanidloes, Machynlleth, Cardigan, Brecon and Lampeter.
Good luck Smile

Thanks for that - Llanidloes was our first port of call, great to have other ideas. DH will be retiring- I don’t think I’ll need Welsh for my work. I am keen on trying to learn alongside DCs who I presume will do fair bit at school. Something to keep my brain exercised!

Have a look at Llanwrtyd Wells in Powys, lovely town with lots going on & a real community spirit. Much smaller than Llanidloes but still has all amenities!

It depends on where you are moving from as to how well you will be welcomed if I'm honest. Some rural areas of Wales are horribly xenophobic.

We have a place a few miles North of Llandovery. There's a good community spirit there too. No xenophobia that I have noticed. English is widely spoken.
