So we currently live in Derbyshire, it’s ok but it just lacks a bit in nice pubs, villages, restaurants, things to do etc. Plus Derby is not a great city, we just don’t feel it’s for us long term.

DH has been working in Bristol and really likes it down there. We live quite rurally now and want to carry on living in a rural or semi rural area but in / close to a nice village / town and a nice city.

We have quite a list of criteria which is a problem!! Obviously not wanting to meet all these but:

Within commuting distance of several major employment centres (DH does IT contract work, so this is a must)

In / close to nice village / town with pubs, shops, good schools

Nearby city (within 10/15 miles) to have good restaurants, shopping, stuff to do

I have horses, they live at home at the moment but that’s not essential but local equestrian facilities important

Close (ish) to seaside

Would need for my parents to move as well so annex / potential annex or some affordable accommodation close by needed

Not sure on budget yet but we’d need 4 bed house with decent garden. Probably between 650k -£ 800k. Obviously a location where our money would go further is great but we also want a good location.

Any ideas?? Around Bristol / SW but also anywhere else really.
