Me and my partner applied to private rent a house through an estate agents. They took our fees ECT so we thought we got it. I handed my notice into where we are living now. I private rent, have done for 3 years and never missed rent. I got a phone call yesterday saying that some things had flagged up on my partners reference and the land lady isn't happy to proceed. It turns out my partner has a CCJ that he didn't know about from a phone bill he didn't pay back in 2009. The ccj was issued in 2014. He only found out last night when he rang the phone company to set up monthly re payments. Do we have any chance in private renting with my partners ccj if were honest about it to the estate agents?
