Hi we are possibly moving to shepperton and i just wondered if anyone knows what its like please? I viewed somewhere yesterday and when i got off at the station i walked down a small high street which didnt have much and just wondered if theres any other shops around etc? Where is the nearest town for shopping, cinema etc and where the thames is as ive seen lots of lovely photos from shepperton but have no idea which direction to go in to find these things. Any reviews etc and advuce would be great. Thank you

Hi !
The main shops are on the High street, it is quite small but has everything you need, 2 butchers, a bakery, couple of restaurants, 2 small supermarkets, Sainsbury's is taking over Budgens in Sept. and there is also the M&S petrol station for bits. Plenty of charity shops, a DIY store, nail bars etc. I think it does quite well considering it is just a village Grin
3 parks within walking distance of the High Street with playgrounds too.
There are 2 more pubs and restaurants in the square which is straight across the roundabout at the bottom of the High Street.
The Thames is just beyond the bottom of the HS, head towards Walton, across the bridge and then you have the tow path to Hampton / Weybridge.
The schools are pretty good, there is the usual issue with some teenagers that cause problems but that can be said for anywhere and I think the issues that are seen are at the low end of the problem scale. There is a FB page 'Friends of Shepperton' if you want a bit more info Smile
