Water board inspection

We have recently moved into the sticks. Have septic tank but mains water. Just received a letter from water company requesting full inspection of house and all water systems?! Have never had this before, any thoughts as to why they would suddenly request this (1 weeks notice). Feel a bit worried

I know this is a late reply, but it may be because you are only paying for water you use (incoming) and as you have a septic tank and drainage you are not paying the water company for that (ie, outgoing water). So. Ost likely they are coming to,check that you do indeed have a septic tank and are not on mains drsinage.
