Moving to Derbyshire

Hi
We are relocating to Derbyshire from Kent any places that are good for families that I'm not aware of? Looking at Matlock, Bakewell but also interested to hear about places over Edale/Hathersage too as I don't know them as well.
Would like semi rural with a view over hills or fields but preferably hills. We live in semi rural Kent but it's like Matlock really. Thanks.

Matlock is nice.Baslow/Bakewell/Eyam/Calver all beautiful but pricier. Close proximity to Sheffield however which is a bonus if you want to be near a decent city.
I grew up in a village close to Chesterfield which is now a surprisingly nice town in terms of shops etc, but small enough that you can be semi rural pretty quickly.

Edale is quite remote really-Hathersage is lovely-and public transport has improved lately but again quite far out? Depends how rural you fancy.Try Tydeswell if you want to be further out?
