Bucks or Devon...

We have two dds 1 & 3 - for the purpose of this post I'll over simplify - we currently love in southeast London and we want to move, the choices (after long discussion and the knowledge that both have family nearby...) are:

  1. Buckinghamshire (45 mins from London) village location good schools and nice community

OR

  1. Devon, nr ish the seaside, complete change of pace less income

One offers us the ability to earn more money while dipping our toes in rural life, BUT means more childcare costs, still commute and expensive

The other forces us to change the pace of things live by the sea BUT means we will always have low wages and we may struggle to integrate (altho we have parents in the area)

Great problem to have but we just don't know what's best for us and more importantly the kids....

Do you? :/

I would go for Devon but it really depends on your work situation. Living in Devon would not have been possible for us due to dh's job. Bucks has the 11+ which would would put me off.
