Is Bollington a good place to live with kids? Also which are the best Primary schools and which High school would my children go to if we lived in Bollington. We have our eye on Fallibroome Secondary. Are the Bollington Primary schools feeders to the school?

Hi, all primaries feed to Tytherington except for the RC one which feeds to All Hallows. There is a list on the Cheshire East website on entry to high schools.

And Bollington is a lovely place and very family friendly!

If you are super keen on Fallibroome then feeder schools include Prestbury, Mottram, Upton Priory, bollinbrook, whirley.

We are actually coming from Australia, not in UK at the moment, but we have to apply for Primary by Jan 15th. We have no address yet, but I thought I' apply anyway. I don't think we will have much chance, but you never know. Are any of those schools over subscribed (Primary in Bollington ones) Plus are all the feeders to Fallibroome all in Macclesfield?

No, some feeders are in villages such as nether alderley, Mottram and Prestbury. They are over subscribed in reception but it is possible to find spaces in other years, particularly year 3 as some children enter private at junior level. The Fallibroome feeders in Mac are bollinbrook, broken cross, Upton priory and whirley.

Bollington is wonderful, great sense of place and community, fabulous scenery, lovely people. Left a couple of years ago and would move back tomorrow. All primaries are good, do your research re Church schools vs community etc. HS are Tytherington and All Hallows', depending on year size Fallibroome may have places but it is not a dedicated feeder as others have said, Kings is a well thought of private school. All amenities for teenagers in Manchester. No place like it, utterly unique.Smile

Bollington is fantastic! Moved out about 6 months ago. If I recall correctly, for the school year starting 2014 there were spare reception places in all 4 primary schools (which rankled as we were having problems finding a reception place in the county we were moving to). Some great pubs (miss the Vale), lots going on, great swimming lesson and even a festival every few years.

If you want to consider independent schools, there are students from Bollington and Macc who go to Manchester Grammer (boys) and Withington/Manchester High (girls) which all have extremely high reputations.
