Nice areas in Bedfordshire

Hi everyone,

I have been offered a job in Bedford. I have always lived in London but want to relocate to somewhere a bit quieter to start a family. It needs to be within 30 minutes drive of Bedford but also commutable to Hampstead Heath for my fiancé. I would like there to be good schools nearby. We would like to buy a house up to the value of £250000. Which areas would you recommend? Flitwick looks affordable, is this a nice area?

Thanks
G

Personally I think Flitwick is icky. Nice villages nearby & some not nice. Given the commutes of both of you I would live nearer the M1. Toddington?

I have relatives in Ampthill. That's a nice little town. Or Woburn.

Flitwick is not nice. Ampthill is nice. I used to know someone who lived in Biggleswade and she liked it. What size house are you looking for?
