Moving near Henley-on-Thames

Hi all, we have 8 month old twins and are thinking of making the move to the country from SW London. We've found a lovely house in a village between Henley and Reading but we're feeling a bit nervous!
I would love to hear how it is living around there, particularly about commuting to London since the village is about 5 miles to Henley or Reading stations, and also about baby and toddler groups, meeting other mums, finding a full-time live-in or part-time live-out nanny, schools etc etc...
Scary stuff!
Thanks!

So so easy. Depending on where in London you are now, from reading to say, the west end it is probably the same travel time.

Living by the Thames and having the Cotswolds so close is lovely. I have lived all over the uk and travelled a lot, but spent most of my time in Oxfordshire and Berkshire.

London and all that goes with that is so close LHR is under an hour for flights.

Oxford has great history, cute little shops, restaurants etc.

Reading has nice shops and good transport links.

The villages have lots of community events. Fetes, ballet, cricket, riding etc

Plus HRR week is great fun (apart from the traffic).
