The extremes of health care when you live remote-rural.

I go to a walk in clinic and it's empty! I walk right in to see the doctor immediately. No struggling for days/weeks to get GP appointments out here. We have 3 doctors and a population of under 1000, so you're always able to see a dr the same day. If you're fussy about which one, you might have to wait a couple of days, but all 3 of them are good.

Then I get home and receive a phone call about a concern we have with one of DS2's eyes. Apparently the specialist he needs to see is only a mere 10hrs drive away - each way!! Grin

Remote rural here too, but no walk-in clinic! Cuts to the rural GPs funding is starting to bite too Sad.

But had to laugh at the London specialist when she boggled that blood test results take a week to come back. I thought that was pretty good myself!
