Would you recommend Gran Canaria or Lanzarote for a brief stay over the Christmas period? And what makes you prefer one over the other please?

I think if you check, you may find that GC south is warmer than Lanzarote?
I wouldn't recommend Playa Del Inglés but otherwise, I have little experience of GC. Some people on MN seem to like Maspalomas.
