Did he apply for it?
You need to apply one month before your 66th birthday.
You don't automatically get it.
Have to fill in the form

I filled in an online form, applying for it with my bank details and then got a letter setting out the payments and the dates they would be paid. Did he get a letter like this. Mine came on the correct days

Ring up and ask?

I think you can apply 3 months before ?

Agree with the others, you actually have to apply. Look on line on gov.gateway and find the right page by searching for ‘applying for state pension’

he will need the letter he was sent and a few other identification documents

He did apply for his pension, filled in all the paperwork, and was sent a letter stating when his money would be paid.
The letter from the dwp said he would get a payment on the 8th April and then the next payment would be the 3rd May and then every 4 weeks their affter.

I'm not sure how mumsnet is going to help. There will be a contact number on the website!

Yes , that was the same as my letter, I would probably ring them if it's not there today, hopefully it will be
