Best UK private pension

Is there a private pension provider you recommend or a company I should avoid?
I want to invest in a private pension. I do have an NHS pension but had a period of low contributions due to childcare. I am now in a position to have a private pension alongside this ( Side hustle is a LTD company) so tax benefits from doing this.
I am mid 40’s if that makes a difference in what you might recommend.
Thank you in advance.

Investigate the AVC options for the NHS pension so you can compare them with a SIPP.

Hargreaves Lansdown, online, I choose my own funds.

I've got a SIPP and ISA with Vanguard. Their charges are very low and it's all online and easy and efficient. They offer a variety of different funds with different levels of risk to choose from. Hargreaves Lansdowne have higher costs. If you want to choose your own individual funs and hold them in a SIPP Money Saving Expert can help and I believe AJ Bell is also recommended as being low cost. I'd say give it a go yourself, OP. I have three pension pots and all of them have been really disappointing. Not saying I'll do much better myself, but I'm not sure I could have done any worse.

Vanguard restrict you to their own products I believe, we use Killik in London. so far been good and easy to deal with.
