The village itself doesn't, however there are nicer places in lincolnshire to live than Sibsey. It has a convenience shop/post office and pub (if it's still open. That's it. There is nothing there.
On the whole I would say Boston is ok, I loved locally for most of my life. People's attitudes and perceptions are what give it a bad name more than anything. Yes the murder rate is high, you can't deny that. But they are not random, usually fuelled by alcohol domestic issues among couples or friends. Yes that can make you question the type of people in the population but mostly it's an ordinary town with ordinary town problems, with a lovely church, Central Park, variety of shops and places to drink and eat.
The death of the high street is the same as anywhere and whilst some people take issue with the high volume of Eastern Europeans they are generally the ones too short sighted to see that they are doing work local people don't want to do and filling shops local people aren't. They didn't arrive by accident, many many local people benefit from their presence and they integrate into the community like anyone would be expected to.
But it's got a bad rep hard to shift. In my opinion the traffic and terrible road system is the number one issue Boston has.
Do you know the local area?
Closer Spalding May suit you better, the villages are larger and more going on, better links to Peterborough and the chance to get back to Essex easier.
