My mil isn't getting her full pension, its about £50 short a week.
She has contacted the hmrc and they say she hasn't paid enough stamp, so she asked for a record of her payments which she now has and from 1975- 1990 when she was getting child benefit, she wasn't getting the credit on her NI account which is why she doesn't qualify for full state pension.
Apparently this has happened to quite a number of ladies in her age bracket and they are allowing them to apply to to have the credits put onto the NI records which we are in the process of helping her with.
Has anyone had any experience of this with a parent, it would be useful to know whether mil will get full state pension when its sorted and also what happens to the almost 20 years of under payment, would she be entitled to any of that back?
