Semi retirement -gift?

Large organisation, where lots of people retiring so lots of collections and cards circulating. What is the etiquette when someone semi- retires. Ie they aren't leaving just reducing their hours? Should the small team have a gathering/drinks/gift. Or should there be a big collection from the whole organisation? And in a few years does it all happen again when they actually leave?! Don't want to seem tight but also don't want to do over kill and embarrass colleague, as they want a bigger thing when they actually leave leave. Grateful for opinions

I wouldn't have thought there would be anything.
At my work, it isn't unheard of for people to change their days / hours - it is never marked in any way. People get a gift when they leave.

You don’t get a gift if you aren’t leaving! Semi-retired just means going part time, that’s ridiculous to expect a gift.
