I am a full time uni student, I get a training bursary £6000 which is non taxable and I work casually for a agency but usually only get around £3000 a year as I work around my degree, I get tax credits (at the moment) and child benefit.
is there anything else i could get if I become a single mum?

OMG this is horrible

entitledto website will help you.

Court will put interests of the child first so you may not have to sell your home.

Some solicitors do a free initial interview and the CAB are also helpful.

Good luck

If you're married, it's half your home too, he can't just sell it even if it is in his name. Though I think you have to put a claim to that effect on the Land Registry record, so do get some advice quickly as the lovely MrsClooney says. Definitely try the CAB first as they have quite a lot of information about divorce and separation, in fact google it, it's useful stuff.

There may also be a case for short-term spousal maintenance, ie he pays you an allowance till you've finished your course or some other convenient point, depending on the circumstances. Regardless, if he is the children's legal parent he will be liable for child maintenance. So there's hope!

The house is in both names, in fact the initial mortgage on this house was just mine based on my own job as he wasnt working at the time!
Fact is, neither of us can afford this house on our own now as we added on to the loan to renovate etc but we do have a good chuck of equity (around £80-90,000) so split 50/50 we would both get a nice deposit for a smaller place each. Obviously at the moment Im not able to get a mortgage but as of next summer I will be a qualified nurse and hopefully get work quickly and be able to buy someone where on my own again.
Its just this next year, I cant afford to buy OR rent anywhere on my income, I was hoping we could just have our own room and see my course out. Essentially we do get on
