Anyone good at snooping? can you get back deleted internet history

After find a load of suspicious shit on his laptop, threatning to leave, massive argument etc DP has taken to leaving his profile un-password protected to "prove" he's not upto anything. On two seperate occasions he has mentioned how he doesn't know how to delete internet history. Needless to say, when I look in his history now, its squeaky clean.
What makes me suspicious though is that the argument was over a "virtual" flirting sesh with a woman over facebook which I think would have gone further had it not been for me finding it. Now after this row, I told him that I did not mind him messaging her, just not to be sneaky about it and watch his tone with her. He agreed and said he would continue to message her, with my blessing but not in the same tone as before.
But since this row, facebook has not shown up on his internet history once. Has he not been on it all since? despite saying he would? or is he just deleting certain parts of his history?
His laptop profile is still unprotected but when I go on there I notice he has taken off the automatic sign in for email, facebook etc.

Is there anyway I can get back deleted internet history?

FabIsGoingToGetFit · 10/06/2010 19:50

AnyFucker · 10/06/2010 19:57

FabIsGoingToGetFit · 10/06/2010 20:01

"stop caving your head in with all the paranoia and get rid of him"
Jeepers, Shaggy. If every woman got rid of every guy who'd "like to take it further" with another woman there'd be a whole lotta chaps with overdeveloped right arms moping in bedsits in Slough.
So far no one however has come up with actual links to these superspy keylogger programmes though. Speaking as a penis-owner i'm jolly glad about that. Who doesn't love the Microsoft ads on telly where the chap slams shut his laptop coz he's, ahem, "looking to buy flash jewellery for his wife/girlfriend"? As opposed to, for example, mentioning no names and all, flogging the bishop 'til it hurts over his choice of pornography. Anyway, it looks like even Bill Gates and crew have figured out the proper use of "InPrivate Browsing". Hurrah. And typing "flogging the bishop" has reminded me of an excellently tasteless joke: What's the definition of an Oirish [and/or German, depending on news cycle] Exorcism? Where you have to summon the Devil to get the Priest out of the boy.
Just fcuking chill, ladies. We like to wank. And we're visual. We understand that life isn't perfect and that some people are exploited/abused and so on. Most of us aren't turned on by that. Some are and it's wrong. It is not wrong to like to look at naked women however. It just isn't. Deal with it. We actually like all sorts - not just the so-called "perfect" bodies.

HairExtensions · 11/06/2010 00:29

Nice name, it suits you.

I thoroughly agree with you, a lot of men are wankers

AnyFucker · 11/06/2010 07:11

Rsole by name....

williewalshsballs · 11/06/2010 07:17

"If every woman got rid of every guy who'd "like to take it further" with another woman there'd be a whole lotta chaps with overdeveloped right arms moping in bedsits in Slough."

...Yes? And this is our problem how?

asparagusaddict · 11/06/2010 07:52

just read this thread, am (unusually) using DH's computer as my laptop is playing up, thought i'd have a quick peek at the internet settings after what had bveen said on here - the delete history on exit button is ticked - is this something to worry about in itself? is it not the default setting?

Finbar · 11/06/2010 08:08

Does this checking system work on Safari on a Mac?

mathanxiety · 11/06/2010 23:39

Excellently tasteless is right.

IsGraceAvailable · 12/06/2010 00:50

Gosh, what an interesting thread
Since I'm all alone in Relationships, with only my cat for company ... nope, she's gone to bed, too ...

1] AF!!! Yee-hah! Glad you're back, and didn't you notice it's been raining? Hang all your wosshin out at the weekend, then come back on MN while you "manage the laundry"

2] Rsole, you live in Slough? How lovely. Perhaps if you use a 15-pound hand weight on your left arm while the other one's busy, you'll fit your t-shirts better

3] YSF - it's true, you know, you can keep trying to 'catch' him but what you're doing is really a form of denial ... or delaying the inevitable. When he says "You don't trust me", what's your answer? You don't trust him. Carry on snooping, and you'll either not find anything but keep looking, or find something that means you have to do more snooping.

What's the point? Either ditch him, or wait for him to leave you a great big clue. Carry on like this, you're just giving yourself wrinkles ...

... If you do install a keylogger (they're software, btw, don't buy a gadget) you will have to tell your antivirus & antispy program(s) to ignore it.
