Hi everyone

i've been single now for goign on 6 months and i want to get back out there dating again. i don't have a lot of family i can rely on for babysitting, and DS is only 22 mo, so socialising isn't very often and therefore the chances of meeting sometime this way are close to minimal lol.

So i'm considering a dating website. Trouble is, i don't really want to pay for one. However i've been into one or two single chat rooms and all the men seem to be complete sleazes online for one thing only.

Does anyone know of any decent, free sites where i could go to possibly meet someone?

Hi living - I'm single too and just got back into the dating scene. I know what you mean about it being difficult to meet someone when you have the constraints of a little one and babysitting is hard to orgasnise. From talking with friends when I was first thinking about starting dating again, it seems that unfortunately a lot of the free sites do seem to attract the wrong sort of men which is a real shame. Not a hard and fast rule so my friends said if you went on a free one you just have to do a bit more sorting the wheat from the chafe.

I was quite lucky that one of my friends also became single at the same time so we've taken the plunge and actually joined a paid for dating website (£30 a quarter) together. So far, my experience has been really positive with no sleazy type men approaching me. Maybe it's because you have to pay that only men who are genuinely interested in meeting someone for a relationship will actually bother to put their hand in their pocket and sign up. I've been on a couple of dates so far and, whilst, they weren't relationship material for me, I had a lovely time and they have become friends.

Sorry that doesn't really answer your question but hope it helps in some way.

I joined three:
www.freedating.co.uk
www.plentyoffish.com
www.girlsdateforfree.com

I had dates off the first two, but none off the third. I finally found my current partner on plentyoffish - we are now engaged

I also joined a couple of paid ones but never found anyone interesting on any of them.

Good luck- my friend was widowed in his early 30s and eventually found a lovely lady on the net. They are married and have a lovely baby now, hope it works out for you
