Has psychosexual/relate counselling worked for anyone?

I have a low/no sex marriage- see recent thread- Sexless marriage and fantasizing about an affair... Looked at past MN threads and it seems these relatiosnhips either break down, end in an affair or stay sexless....Does anyone have any positive stories to share of counselling or the relationship sorting itself out? Or should I resign myself to one of the scenerios above?

Hi good2talk - What are the reasons why your marriage is low/no sex?

DH has low sex drive and seems to be happy with infrequent sex and lack of intimacy after previous marriage of 13 years that wasn't consumated. I'm starting to feel that this may be beyond counselling... Should I just get a FB, have an affair or get out? Need to know if anyone has invested the time and effort into counselling and things have improved.
