Funny experiences of been dumped?

Just reading another thread about someone been dumped by text and I wondered is this common now? What is your experience, funny or otherwise? I was once told how loved I was and the very next day I called him and his phone number had been changed whilst he was flying half way around the world with his other lover!!!

I got dumped on my birthday, which was gutting enough. He came out with the classic 'It's not me, it's you' line and then pulled out a present and said brightly 'But I've bought you a really good book though'.

Hmm, you just broke my heart but a book about Hiroshima burn victims will definitely make things better

I was 12 and crazy about this boy, Steve. I spent a good 6 months writing every single exchange in my Snoopy diary.

Eventually he asked me out...I was delirious. We went to a disco and I was too shy to talk to him. On Monday his friend told me that Steve thought I was a spaz and was dumped. My life was over...we'd been "going out" for one week. Cried for another 6 months.

Fast forward 30 years...meet him again...he can never even remember that he was my bf. Oh the indignity!!

Many year ago when I was at university I had a relationship that was, so I thought, going along very nicely. The long summer vacation between years 2 and 3 came along and I waited for the promised letter. And waited, and waited. (No emails in those days). So I phoned, no reply. So I phoned once a day for weeks, or so it seemed. Never any reply.

At the start of the next term I arrived back at uni. No sign of boy friend and I never saw him again.

Fast forward 5 or 6 months. I was close(ish)to his home town so thought I would drop in.
I spoke to his Mum but she had never heard him mention me and unsurprisingly would not say where he was or why he dropped out. All very curious even after many years.

I did Facebook him but cannot be 100% sure which of out of 2 is the correct one. Person A looks (physically) correct but mentions he is a graduate of the university of exactly the same vintage as me (not possible if he dropped out?). Person B got the same degree but from a nearby university 3 years behind me (as if he started again)

I wish he had a less common name Both have accepted being my friend and at least one of them cannot know me.

I was dumped by postcard once! I think my mum read it before I did, I was quite mortified. Not actually upset at the end of the relationship though, luckily.

i got dumped three times in a row in quite quick sucession ,the final blokw walked into my house and sat down with his coat on looking sheepish, i sighed and said ' dont worry i will do the talking for you , im dumped because you have decided to go back to your ex ,am i right ?' ,he was astounded i knew ,but it was the third time and the same reason all three times for all three blokes , i think thats why my husband looked so attractive , he had been single 15 years and couldnt remember what his ex even looked like!!
the best ever being dumped happened when the guy i was seeing had a celebratory drinking session in our village pub to announce his engagement ,unfortunately not to me , my father was in the pub at the time and told my mum ,who got my best friend to tell me ,all in all i had to laugh

I got dumped on valentines day when I was younger

One of my "best friends" went to great lengths to tell me that I was sooo better off without him etc.

Took him back three months later only to get my heart broken all over again!

Then it transpired that he was seeing this so-called best friend! She was only interested in him cos his folks had money. He had a terminal illness and she was banking on the family taking care of her when he died!

They did get married - I was not invited!

The final twist is that someone from the local pub took offence at his treatment of me and gave him a black eye on his stag do. His wedding was the next day so all the wedding piccies show him sporting a real shiner!!!

My boyfriend moved house while I was in hospital. I never did find out where he went.

I got dumped twice because the boyfriend in question happened to be gay. You'd think I'd have learned from the first time.

The first guy came out to me, the second guy I spotted, but he insisted he was in love with me and he was pretty attractive and I'm as susceptible to flattery as the next girl, so he eventually wore me down. It lasted one week. We went to a gig with another guy and as soon as I was introduced I knew my supposed bf's priorities had shifted away from me. He bought me a double vodka by way of apology. It didn't take me long to see the funny side and we stayed friends.

I dumped a guy (good sexual chemistry, but I couldn't help but regard him as a total loser in every other respect, poor chap) when he asked me what I wanted as a Christmas present from him.
"Nothing, thanks," I replied.
Long pause.
"Does that mean you're going to chuck me before Christmas?" he asked.
I replied in the affirmative.

Like I said, poor chap.

Well I did find out in the end. Thank you Facebook. He had another girlfriend at home so basically dumped me for her. Then dumped her as well.

At university I was walking back from a party with a friend, female, whom i had being seeing quite a lot of that term. She was not my gf.
Half way across the common she let go of my hand and stopped dead .

Whats the matter ?
oh, Stubbornboy, I am so sorry but I don't want to go out with you any more
are we going out together ? ?
you kissed me didn't you ?
well yes, but I didn't realise we were actually going out together . Gosh
well we're not, that is what I am telling you.

Bump - yes I know it is a year. I have met the man who dumped me so many years ago. We had exchanged a few messages via Facebook so when I was in the area I arranged to see in. Just for a coffee in M&S. I wasn't exactly heartbroken to hear that his working life hadn't been a sparkling success and his married life had been worse.

I once sent an ex a second mystery valentines card because I thought it would be fun. He got so excited that he could do better than me he immediately dumped me. On valentines day.

I should be grateful though. He was a twat.

My first love, I was 11 when I met him, 15 when we got together (Groomer now by definition). I adored him, then his ex girlfriend, whom I was friends with and sitting round her house having a drink, told me that they had started seeing eachother again...he confirmed it when he came round later to her house. Later that evening, I started walking home, in tears, then realised I'd forgotten my wallet, so trudged back only for him to answer the door half undressed and looking flustered :(

Fast forward 10 years later, he'd split up with his ex, contacted me through Myspace, used to come round mine as a 'Friend with Benefits' then 5 months into our arrangement, I fall pregnant...again fast forward 4 years, I see him for the first time since telling him I was pregnant, pushing his newborn daughter in Matalan. The look of horror closed that chapter for me nicely lol
