Just wanted someone to talk to really.
DH and I aren't getting along terribly well at the moment. Haven't had sex in 2 years which Is now bothering me and he won't talk about it. We had dc last year and it was fairly traumatic birth ( emergency C- section, followed by weeks of dc in hospital). Anyway prior to having baby we had very good relationship but recently things are just strained. He won't talk about "sex" and I though he would come around in own time but even on holiday he made no effort. What should I do? Can men get post traumatic stress following birth?

Yes, he's seen you give birth and he doesn't want to hurt you. He can get counselling via the GP. This happens to alot of men, they see themselves to blame for the pain and distress that their partner went through.

That does sound like a long time, and it must be hard if you feel you can't both talk about things.

Does HE think there is a problem?
Would he be willing to talk to someone about it?
Do you know how he feels about it, or guess?
Have you good general communication- have you been able in the past to talk about intimate stuff?

Sorry you are going through this. What do you think your next step should be? x

Yes you could be right about him not wanting to hurt me. He's the most kind, considerate man I know. He isn't good at talking about feelings, he keeps things to himself.
I should say that we had years of trying to conceive followed by IVF so naturally the sex side suffered. Now that we have a dc ( we adore), I thought sex could be fun again. Didn't expect to have it disappear.
He is very stressed at work too but I'm sure other people manage.
