I don't know if any of you rememebr hand holding me (tis JBauer) a few motnhs back after she had a very serious stroke and then a relapse around end Jan/beginning Feb. She is back in rehab and havign physio and has been given her mobile phone back.
I have been sending her a few pics of the girls and some voice messages and I got a text of her earlier, which took a bit of deciphering but I worked it out.
Then just now she rang to say hello and let me know she stood up ON HER OWN 4 times in physio today! Which is AWESOME!

Her voice is still a bit slurred but she is understandable now, and she says her arm and her kneecap (where she was kicked by a horse many years ago) still hurt like buggery but apart from that she is feeling much better.
I am so pleased!

Well I wasn't one of the people who held your hand but just want to say that's brilliant news

JB - that is fantastic news. My father had a stroke a couple of years ago and the progress they make is amazing.

My Dad just had another stroke at Easter, and this one affected his frontal lobe, so no further harm done to movement, but his thought process/emotions and short term memory is not very good.

I know how you feel. The first time I went up to see my Dad and he said "look what I can do" and stood up and I took his arm and he walked a few steps was such a good feeling.

YAY to your MIL.

She has been put onto AD's as this was a left side stroke(?) and she was not coping well, but she seems a lot brighter and even had time for a bitchy gossip

I remember when she was taken ill and I could almost feel your worry through the computer.

Absolutely thrilling she has progressed so much.

Well done JB's MIL!!! Fantastic news - I bet if I look out of my window I'll be able to see your smile from here!!

Aw thanks guys, it has been a bloody long slog, I haven't seen her in weeks either as taking teh girls up was stressing everyone out because someone had to stay behind to babysit them, so easier for DH to go up on his own, so I have only been getting 2nd and 3rd hand news.
Going up in a few weeks and we have convinced DD1 to go and see her as well. Awesome.
