No, but I know someone who has!

moondog · 27/07/2005 17:38

Blimey, don't let Peace Dove see this! He's convinced that the decadent West is going to hell in a handbasket as it is. This will confirm it once and for all!

Note you've answered ggg. My sister (one in France) had a couple for dinner recently and they would not leave. She is convinced they were waiting for her and her dh to rip their clothes off. Don't think they'll be invited back Chez Soeur de Chien de Lune in a hurry.......
Strangers' paunches, bald spots and flappy bits?????

No thanks

AfricoAngel · 27/07/2005 17:45

Expatinscotland, yes indeed, I am a nosey bugger, but take it as a compliment. I feel comfortable enough in mumsnetters presences to be so nosey!

Gardener's note: the problem with pampas grass is that it's very resilient and quite difficult to get rid of. Which means that some of us are probably still living with pampas grass planted in the 70s (when god knows what was going on in our living rooms...).

The thing I don't think I'd like about swinging round the village duckpond is that it's a half-way house between casual sex and a relationship: you've got to see these people again. I always feel that sex works best either when you don't really know the person, you're not going to see them again - you just fancy them (and preferably before they talk too much and go and spoil it ) or in a loving ongoing relationship. Everything else just gets complicated.

Did you see that Louis Theroux programme on swingers? The thing that struck me was just how horrible all the blokes were. Really pervy and unnattractive. Yuk!

Janbo25 · 03/08/2005 10:50

is it real wife swaps you are referring to, it was a very interesting programme

Janbo25 · 03/08/2005 13:45

intriguing>>?

Janbo25 · 03/08/2005 15:46

bump

charliecat · 03/08/2005 15:52

was real wife swops the one where a load of swingers went on holiday together somewhere?

and on the same subject I do know some folk that did this and it ended up where they swapped partners so ugly bloke A go ugly bloke Bs yucky wife and vice versa. What a lot of bother.

Janbo25 · 03/08/2005 15:53

yes they went to france i think, it does seem a lot of bother i'm happy with dh but i like experimenting don't get me wrong

charliecat · 03/08/2005 15:54

experiment with dh...would you really want some other hags manky hubby? I wouldnt.

Chandra · 03/08/2005 15:55

Oh dear... Moondog, after your last post I will be leaving every dinner at 11:00 for fear of being misundertood . I remember when we lived at Spain we used to meet around 10:00 and the party/after dinner talk continued well into the early hours, and it didn't mean anything at all but that people was having a good time. Would the French be the same?

Janbo25 · 03/08/2005 15:57

i don't mean that charlie i mean just me and dh experimenting between ourselves and not having some minger learing! lol

novadandypowder · 03/08/2005 16:37

Been resisting getting involved in this discussion, but i can't help myself. DH and I go to fetish clubs where a lot of swinging takes place. We've both had fun with other ladies there but i have no interest in doing anything with other men, so we don't swap as such. All I can say is that for me being watched, and watching others is a huge turn on.

Janbo25 · 03/08/2005 16:58

sounds really interesting nova, how do you get to know of these clubs??

novadandypowder · 03/08/2005 17:09

The club i go to advertises in the clubbing section of Time Out, it's been running for over 10 years. If you want to find these places it's not that hard, the internet is a useful tool. A good place for reference if you live in London is londonfetishscene.com, it has chat rooms, club listings, links for mail order, galleries etc. etc.

The swinging scene doesn't really sit hand in hand with the fetish scene, but there's a bit of crossover.

Janbo25 · 03/08/2005 17:10

so what actually goes on at the fetish clubs?

geekgrrl · 03/08/2005 17:14

dh and I used to go to private fetish parties in our 'swinging from the chandeliers' pre-kids days (now it's sadly all strictly under the duvet).
We belonged to a group of people who were using the BDSM-UK IRC channel (IRC is internet relay chat - an ancient chatroom thing, popular over 10 years ago) and met up regularly. No swinging as such took place in public though (and it wouldn't have been our bag anyway, tbh).
The parties were always great fun - held at fetish clubs with proper dungeons and all, and nice people. What went on was mainly rather tame S&M stuff - a bit of discipline and such things, and generally showing off a bit.

Janbo25 · 03/08/2005 17:15

blimey i wouldn't know where to start??

novadandypowder · 03/08/2005 17:15

anything and everything, from straight forward dancing to being whipped in a dungeon, you make the night what you want it to be. It's not as frightening as a lot of people may think, they have very strict dress codes and behaviour policies, in fact i find people better behaved in fetish clubs than in regular nightclubs.

Janbo25 · 03/08/2005 17:17

is it just you and you dp then rather than swinging?? do people watch
