I got mine a PS2 (a friend had recently paid me back a $2K debt and I was feeling flush) and he bought me a mulberry tree which is planted in the back garden; we'd recently moved house and left behind a beautiful old mulberry.

We haven't done presents much since then, though. Second anni, we said no presents, and then his workmates convinced him that I was just doing that 'female thing' of saying no presents as a test and he had to buy me something or he'd be in trouble. So he rushed out and bought me a new chess set. Very sweet, but I was a little cross that he'd believed I was the type to play nasty little testing games like that.

We're coming up to 8th now, and now we just have a nice dinner and prevail on my mother to babysit for us.

I got DH a watch. He got me feck all! Do you think I've mentioned it at all in the intervening 13 years ?

turns out she wasn't but still.....why she felt the need to tell me i don't know

DS - well sort of. He arrived 1 week later

I made dh a picture. I cut out 365 paper hearts and arranged and glued them then got them framed. It took me about a week. He bought us 2 stars....
