Mid Life Crisis

My DH has just in the last few minutes informed me that he is going to ride his motorbike from England to Cape BLOODY Town, overland. Oh, and he will be crossing the Sahara Desert whilst he's about it.

He is 47 years of age, been married 23 years. To top it all, he will be away from work and his family for 3 months.

Should I put my foot down or just humour him in the hope that this is just a phase he's going through?

baluchi - Could you go too? I don't mean bike necessarily, just meet up with them at regular points along the way but do an African trip yourself. Not like you'll get bored and that way you both share the experience and kind of move on in life together. Otherwise this seems a bit of a one-sided affair.

As for 'Its not like he's off partying for three months, is it?', there will be plenty of opportunities for a good party on this trip - would you be worried about that?
