I was out last night and got very very drunk. I have been seeing a new guy for a couple of months and I cheated on him with a random guy I met in the club.

I feel discusted in myself. But what makes it worse is that my friends boyfriend knows about it and said he will not tell the guy I'm seeing but he thinks I should tell him.

I really do not feel I can tell him. But there is a possibilty he could find out as other people in the club could have seen me with the random guy. And I am worried they could tell him....

Please give advice, and go easy on me as I feel terrible.

Had you discussed and agreed a monogamous relationship before you slept with this other man?

I think it depends - if you can see yourself growing old with this man, then you would do it with the burden of this secret and it will eat away at you. Plus the stress of never knowing whether he'll find out from someone else.

If, otoh, this is a Mr OkRightNow, and you can't see yourself settling down with him, then you've little to lose by telling him.

Either way, I think honesty is the best policy.

He's a new man don't worry about it.

Don't tell him. If some one else tells him, he only has their word for it. He really does not need to know unless pregnancy or infectious disease occurs.

It is more important that you think about yourself - having more respect for your own body and soul than to overdose on alcohol and then put yourself at risk of all sorts of nasty consequences
