I split with my DH recently, cut a long story short he is an alcoholic and I was in debt and I also stand to lose my home,I have really tried my hardest to keep things amicable because we have a ds together, his dp's asked me why we have seperated so i told them the truth, it now turns out that they are calling me a liar and exsadurator and this has caused his sis to fall out with them also, she tried to elaborate to her parents that her DB is an alcoholic and that these things are not being made up...this has split there family up...
I carried this burden for many years, finding empty spirit bottles, coping with debts he even hid the glass he drank out of.
He just will not admit his addiction.

has anyone been through this before?

I feel so alone

Denial is what alcoholics do best.

That and being shits without ever quite realising it.

Sad but true.
