My partner is a chippy who works a 10 hr day, do i have to do everything Fgs?

He only does anything with ds if i tell him, moan, or force him.

Its really pi**sing me off, we're beginning to argue everyday about it.

Typical day would be he comes home, expects dinner, I dont sodding make it ds goes down at 7 so i offer ds to him to give bedtime bottle but dp is too tired to feed him, hold him or change him without a battle between us. So yours truly gets on with it, put ds down and thats that.

But dp can muster up enough energy for PS2 until midnight, where i go to bed at 9/10 sometimes, because im so tired, ds gets up at 5/6 each morning. Dp is just a lazy ole fart who thinks i sit at home twiddling my thumbs. As you all prob know it doesnt even end with ds going to bed, theres still the laudry, dishes, household stuff, eating / bathing myself etc.. While he plays on PS2.

I dont wanna be a single mum, i want my ds to have a dad but fgs, i feel single already. All he ever does is moan that he's number 2 since ds came along, he'll be zero soon if he dont start bucking up his ideas but I tell you, for the love of jesus he cannot see the error of his ways.

What to do?

how old is ds? have you ever left dp with ds for an afternoon?

ds is 4 months, such a good baby, scarcly cries. I've left him for about an hour at best with dp or after i have put him to bed so he doesnt need to do anything with him, thats it.

I've left dp in living room with ds before today and dp will play on his PS2 whilst shushing up ds by rocking his chair. I just go mad.

dontwanttosay, I meant you to read the rest of the thread too, it was a similar situation and there was some constructive advice there as well as one joke.

I think you need to "accidentally" spill something or drop something on the bloody playstation. Then maybe he'll come out of his hypnotic state (hide the TV remote control as well)

go shopping (without your mobile) for an entire afternoon. leave a list of things to do

ie feed your son
cuddle your son
play with your son

tell him it will be fun and he will enjoy it, and if he has that idea in his head then he might just do that

i think at this age men find it hard to know what to do with babies, when they are older maybe you will find that he has more input into your sons life

as for everthing else, i dont know what to say, why not sit down and have a chat about chores? i absolutely hate cleaning the toilet, and i asked dh if he would do it, and he does. he makes a huge announcement out if it, like he expects and applause or something, but he does it

Thanks nailpolish, I may just do that. I'll have to do all i can to not go back home early, or after 1 hour! But perhaps that will open his eyes a bit.

Caligua, I have been thinking about hiding it, but i think that he'll just sulk and we'll argue more. An accident sounds good, but due the sheer position of the wretched thing, it may be difficult, i could say i was cleaning it and it dropped on the floor by accident. Hmmm, maybe...
