its a beautiful sunny day, and this thread seems to be getting a bti heated and miserable ( with the exception of the lovely dh thread - how jealous am i) at times at the moment so i thought it would be nice for everyone to do a big shout out for something/someone they think is great.

I go with mumsnet. Since i accidentally discovered it you guys have pulled me through some of the hardest scariet times of my life - I love it even when some of us are controversial so i am saying CHEERS [GRIN]

My new dgd (born on 20th) she is beautiful, and of course my dd for giving me my first gd!

starlover · 24/06/2005 14:58

berolina · 24/06/2005 15:07

my beautiful ds (5 weeks 2 days) - my dh who is so good with him and giving me loads of practical support (despite some parenting disagreements!) - and everyone on MN who has helped me with bf and first-time-mum worries!!!

(mini-hijack over)

redsky · 24/06/2005 15:58

this is very out of character but I want to say YIPPPEEEE for MEEEEEEEE!!

After 20 years of on/off depression and putting up with ghastly meaningless jobs (mostly washing up and making sandwiches) and a totally unsupportive dh - things have suddenly turned a huge corner. Dh is now letting me manage the 'front of house' of our pub and I am LOVING every minute of my new role. Also after living in a tiny flat above the pub for the last ten years it looks like we may be purchasing the house of my dreams next door to the pub - which would be FANTASTIC.

Also ds (17) has been appointed head boy of his boarding house - (proud mummy emoticon)!

My life has never been better!

ps I think I am falling in love but we are both managing to keep things 'professional' for now. Difficult tho' when we are working together 12 hours a day every day.

prettyfly1 · 24/06/2005 18:26

Thanks PF - sorry my posting was a bit garbled. No its not my dh I'm in love with.

prettyfly1 · 26/06/2005 19:07

hi redsky, thats ok, it sounds like you have had a tough time. I am not a moral judge and jury believe me. Just make sure that you make each other happy and its the real thing or you could risk losing all your hard won security and that would be awful!!!!!!

I agree with laughter being the best medicine!
My DS has been an angel for the last week and 1 day (and counting ) am loving having my little boy back again. (He is 7 and we have had a fairly bad year with him/ us not coping with his behaviour)

prettyfly1 · 26/06/2005 20:22

then i guess you desreve a shout out as well for being strong enough to cope with the trails and tribulations of parenting and still being a loving mum at the end of it!!!!!!!!!

The fabulous thriving community we have in our parish, about 12 of us met for some drinks and nibbles in one the parishoners garden and it was so lovely.

DH reckons DS is going to be very confused when he goes to school as one of the women he was getting on famously with this afternoon, stands a 50 / 50 chance of being his reception teacher.

A £ to a penny, he will march up to her and say Hello X I saw you at Y and Z's house

I know, by the end of the evening we were trying to say to him, say good night to Mrs XXXXX, and he said but that is X

There maybe trouble ahead..............
