Family arguments - How do you sort them out

I'm struggling with these a bit at the mo. I grew up in a family with lots of arguments that weren't very well resolved and now that both my parents are dead I can't go back to them to ask them whether things were really as bad as they seemed.

Now whenever disagreements or arguments arise in our family I don't know how to deal with them. I feel myself panicking and just wanting them to stop but this often ends in me just shouting at everyone to stop and stomping out of the room.

DO other people resolve things in a saner way or am I just living in cloud cuckoo land.

I have been known to stomp out.

Best thing ime is to keep calm & talk things through without the interjection of those who aren´t involved.

either it gets quite shouty or/then someone will calm down and we talk about it

it is not absolutely unheard of for people to throw things at each other although it has been aaaaages since we had a scene like that
