Any new to the job Met Police Officers out there?

DH changed jobs in the summer and is now training as a Met Police Officer and hating every minute. More he learns about the job, more he thinks it was the wrong decision.

He is 36 and feels trapped. We need his salary so he can't just leave.

Seems the job is full of paperwork and computer work which you are expected to finish each shift and you may only get up to 1hrs paid overtime, even if you have to stay an extra 4hrs.

Does anyone do this job or know anyone that works as a Police Officer?? would be so helpful to hear from someone who actually does the job and what it's really like?

is it really as bad as he has been led to believe?

Thanks all, found it!

ILoveTiffany - he started training in August and been mostly classroom based at Hendon. Next month goes on 'coach patrol' at his station for 5wks which should give him a real view of the job itself.. just hoping it will be better than he has been led to believe..

if you're ex met, dare I ask why you left?!
