i know we all go through changes over the years but if they didnt make the effort to dress nice now and then or get a haircut when needed and just not really care about their appearance.

Yes it would annoy me-is there a reason for it other than laziness?

deste · 22/10/2009 19:23

I would lose some of the worst stuff, ie bin it shrink it, anything but just get rid of it and buy new stuff. Depression can cause people to become like that so be carefull.

think dh is maybe a little too content or yes being lazy. Ive hinted that maybe he should make more effort but he thinks its funny. He's not dirty or anything like that but his appearance is very slack. Despite having children and a busy schedule i still try and make the effort. Obviuosly children birth and aging has taken its toll but i still try. Am i being petty here?

How would he react if you started eyeing up more fanciable men?

jasper · 22/10/2009 23:02

Yes it would

EcoMouse · 23/10/2009 02:16

No it wouldn't.

I think it would be petty for me to do so.

EcoMouse · 23/10/2009 02:18

Does he embarrass you?

choosyfloosy · 23/10/2009 02:29

Depends how far it got.

Weight gain no, haircut no (though we have got pretty good at home with the clippers). Failing to wash YES. dh only fails to wash when he is very depressed.

wanttostartafresh · 23/10/2009 18:21

Not caring about one's appearance can sometimes be a sign of depression/low self esteem. I would talk to him about it nicely and try and find out if there is some underlying reason for it.
