Stuck in the middle.......

This could get confusing so bear with me!

DH has a friend he has known since college. He was our best man at our wedding. DH's friend (call him Peter) married (call her Jo)and had 2 kids.

10 years later Peter & Jo are divorcing. Wife is nice but can be a bit

Now, completely seperate, I have a mum friend in the playground 'Ellie' who is married to 'Paul'. Ellie & Paul have recently split up and its gone a bit nasty. Now, I have got friendly with Ellie & Paul as individuals and have managed to stay out of the hassle. BUT! Today Paul says to me "I know a friend of yours" and gives me a wink....turns out he has just started dating Jo...... Complete fluke as neither knew each other at all.

Feel I should be 'faithful' to Peter but as I say I am friends with all these people!!

What do I do??!! Keep a low profile??!! Argh!!

Keep a low profile. You know nothing.

OR, given that Peter was originally your DH's friend, pass the buck to your DH and see if he feels Peter needs telling. Not that it's Peter's business given that they're divorcing anyway. So keep well clear.

say nothing at all, i dont think its down to you to tell anyone else anything, you will only end up being the one caught in the middle

DailyMailNameChanger · 16/09/2009 16:13

Keep out of it, if either of them say anything just say that, as friends of theirs you wish them every happiness in their lives but that, as friends of yours, you expect them to keep you firmly out of any relationship stuff.

He has only just started dating her. It might not last. It might just have been one date. This might be the only talking point they have.

Why is it an issue?? As I read it both couple are divorcing, and 2 have started dating each other!
A coincidence and nothing to do with you, can you not just carry on as usual??

Barmymummy · 16/09/2009 20:50

[Grin] at double date!!

Its an issue because Peter is distraught at wife telling him its over and now I know his wife is porking my other friends hubby it makes it awkward that I know and he doesn't.

If he finds out (which he may well do now) it will look like I was hiding info from him.

Anyway, as you say, am keeping outta it!!!! Wish me luck lol!
