I want to adopt he doesn't!

I have always wanted to adopt long before I met dh and had my two children. Put it to him last night about adopting a child and he has shocked me by saying that he couldn't love another child as much as he loves his own. Even if that child has no one to love him or her.
Not sure what to do now, any advice.

My dp has said exactly that too

think you need to talk to him more about why you want to do this.
he has told you honestly how her feels, if he cant love a child that is not biologically his as much as one that is, he is not alone in that (my dh says the same), most people do feel a bond with their flesh and blood and, as much as you may care for another child, a lot of people dont feel that same bond.
that bond is natures way of making sure we care for our helpless offspring.
have you considered fostering? a lot of children need that help very much - there are children in terrible situations who need a good foster mum and dad, maybe more short term helping of vulnerable children would be seen differently by your dh while at the same time fulfilling your need to help children?
